Along with wire enamels, impregnation resins and varnishes are key elements in the manufacture of motors, generators and transformers. The task of impregnation resins is to transform the individual elements of windings, electrical steel cores and other insulation materials into a homogeneous and mechanically stable whole. The resins also improve heat conduction between windings, insulation and metal cores, and provide a broad spectrum of protection against atmospheric and environmental factors.
